MEETING JESUS CHRIST

OUR MEETING TODAY is not altogether by chance. Although we have not had time to become well acquainted, may I share with you something most wonderful?

Sometime ago, I met a remarkable person, so great and outstanding that it has become a joy to introduce Him to others. The great tragedy is that so many know about Him, but so few know Him personally. Perhaps you have already guessed that I am talking of Jesus Christ – The King of Kings and the Savior of the world.

To some He is little more than a word of blasphemy, to others a source of embarrassment; but to those who know Him, He is a wonderful friend and a brother who sticks closer through times of happiness and sorrows. When once we accept Him as our Savior, we make an amazing discovery. Jesus Christ did not come to makes us religious and stuffy saints or miserable people, He came to give us LIFE –the very fullest and richest. Listen to Jesus’ own words, “…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” –John 10:10 (NKJV)

Dear Reader, whatever may have been your disappointment with people, disillusionment with life, and confusion with religion, please let me assure you that is not the fault Jesus Christ. He has been misrepresented, betrayed, denied and neglected; but today, He stands majestically, in love pleading with you saying, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” –Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)

He speaks to you today. Do you personally know Him or you know about Him? Reading this is not an accident, this is His way of giving you an opportunity to know Him for yourself and not what others distorted views of Him. “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God." -2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV)

The scripture says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you...” –James 4:8(NKJV)

Today is your moment to know His salvation! Jesus says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” –John 5:24 (NKJV)

WHAT IS SALVATION?

SALVATION means to be rescued from sin and its punishment and set free to know, love and serve God. Jesus replies, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin…, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” -John 8:34,36 (NKJV)

ALL PEOPLE have turned away from God and broken the law of God. The Bible calls this sin. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” -Romans 3:23 (NKJV)

LEFT TO OURSELVES, there is no rescue, and the justice of God requires our eternal damnation in the terrors of hell. “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” –John 3:36 (NKJV)

VICTORY over sin was obtained when God sent His Son Jesus to earth. Jesus obeyed God’s laws perfectly. Yet He died to pay for the sins of all who believe. “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” -1 John 4:10 (NKJV)

ADMITTING that our sin has put us in a desperate situation is the first step in our rescue. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” -1 John 1:8-9 (NKJV)

TAKING the free gift of Jesus’ payment for our sin makes ‘not guilty’ in God’s sight. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” –Romans 6:12 (NKJV)

IN GRATITUDE for such love, we follow Him in obedience and sacrificial service. “I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” –Romans 12:1 (NKJV)

ONLY JESUS has provided the way to salvation. “Nor is there salvation inany other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” –Acts 4:12 (NKJV)

NOW is the time to make your decision. “…Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” –Hebrews 3:15 (NKJV)

HOW DO WE RECEIVE GOD'S SALVATION?

Salvation is God’s gift to mankind, pure and simple. God gives us Salvation on the basis of what Jesus Christ has done for us; this welcomes us into His Kingdom. We receive it by believing and accepting this finished work.

“…So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” John 19:28-30 (NKJV)

“…And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission [forgiveness].” Hebrews 9:16-22 (NKJV)

“…Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption…” Hebrews 9:11-15 (NKJV)

JESUS CHRIST’S FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS BRINGS GOD’S SALVATION TO ALL WHO WANTS IT!

He came to the earth and lived the life of perfect obedience before God. That perfect obedience was put into our accounts and registered to our names. So we never need fear being morally overdrawn on that day when we will stand in His holy presence. Our accounts are filled with the perfect obedience of Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross for us, bearing in His own body just punishment of God for our sin. God’s justice was satisfied with Jesus’ sacrifice. Therefore those who believe and accept this inherit God’s salvation.

What is the greatest miracle?

  1. Is it the blind eye that suddenly receives sight?

  2. Deaf ears which now hear?

  3. A terminal disease, pain or weakness that is now gone forever?

The greatest miracle is not physical but spiritual. It is when a lost soul comes to know the glorious saving grace and forgiveness of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. The Lord loves and cares about the things that concern you. He loved you so much that He gave His life by dying on the cross.

The Bible clearly states that everyone has sinned.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”   -Romans 3:23 (NKJV)

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” -Romans 6:23 (NKJV)

Even though we deserved death, but God provided a way for the death penalty for sin to be placed upon the only ONE in the whole universe who could take your place and mine –that person is Jesus Christ the Son of God. How does this happen?

The exchange takes place the moment one accept Jesus Christ into their heart. Just as it is written:

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  -Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV)

Anyone who sincerely prayed, asking God to forgive and cleanse them from sin, He has forgiven them of every wrongdoing they have ever committed in the past. God will not remember the sins of yesterday against you. They are eternally gone. If you have not experience His salvation and forgiveness of sin, today is your golden opportunity to welcome Him into your heart.

“For the scripture says, ‘whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame. And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:11-13 (NKJV)

PRAYER TO RECEIVE SALVATION

“Lord Jesus, I am tired of trusting in myself. I want to trust in You only. I am a sinner and I know I cannot save myself. Please forgive my sins which are many. Please wash all my sins away and make me a child of God. From this moment on, I turn away from everything the Bible calls sin. I believe you are the holy son of God and you died on the cross for my sins and also arose from the dead. I please ask you to come into my heart and life today. From today, you are my Lord and Savior. I want to live a righteous and a holy life. Jesus, I am totally yours. Please help me to obey you every day for the rest of my life. Thank you, Jesus, forgiving me and showing me your love.”

GROWING WITH JESUS CHRIST

From the PASTOR to You:

My friend, brother and sister, welcome into God’s family today! For it is written,
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.”  -John 1:12 (NJKV)

Also it says, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”  -Romans 8:16 (NJKV)

From today, you are no longer a stranger to God. It is therefore my earnest prayer that you grow closer to our wonderful Lord Jesus; and also experience His blessings and love each day of your life.

In order for your new relationship with Jesus Christ to grow, it is very important that you:

  1. Read a portion of the Bible each day.[Start with these – 1 Peter 1:3-25; 1 Peter 2:1-10; Acts 2:1-47; John 1:1-34; Romans 8:12-17; 1 John 5:1-13; 1 John 1:1-4; Hebrews 10:11-25]

  2. Spend some time praying and worshipping the Lord each day. Prayer is talking sincerely and honestly with God [John 14:13-14; John 15:16]. You develop a relationship with a friend by spending time with that individual – talking to them and getting to know them. Jesus Christ has become your eternal friend. Get to know Him just as you would know a friend in the natural.

  3. Find and join a local Church. Where Jesus Christ is exalted as Savior and Lord and also where the Bible is taught as the Word of God. [1 Corinthians 2:1-5; Psalm 92:13; Hebrews 10:25]

  4. Tell others about your new relationship with Jesus Christ. It is natural to talk about good things that happen to us in life. You will have opportunities to tell your family and friends about what Jesus Christ has done in your life. [Mark 5:19; John 4:28-30; Mark 16:15]

  5. Fellowship with Christian friends who will help you grow as a Christian. Spend time with friends who love the Lord as you do and that will help you understand and know Jesus better. [Proverbs 12:26; Proverbs 22:24-25; Proverbs 27:17; Proverbs 13:20; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 1 Corinthians 6:17-20; 1 Corinthians 15:33-34]

BE ON THE LOOK OUT:
JESUS CHRIST
IS COMING AGAIN!

“And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself,
just as He is pure.” - 1 John 3:3

"Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." - Revelation 22:7

“For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.” - 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18

“He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” - Revelation 3:5

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
- Revelation 3:20 -
